Tombies Carbon reduction plan part 1....
ALL THOSE WISHING TO BREED - STOP...
That little bundle of joy will produce more carbon emissions in their life than we can fix.
Whats more amusing is the tax is imposed on business that cannot get any more efficient in its processes - Steel Industry...
And as for alternative energies - Look at the emissions from the manufacture of the following:
Solar Panels
Wind Turbines
Wave Generators
Geothermal Turbines
Not real flash alternatives unless youre a tree hugging dreamer...
The ONLY benefit solar on my roof has - I get no power bill
But the Chinese factory, burning our coal for power, made the frames and alloy components from our ore and mineral products, exported in big ships.
It then processed them in smelters...
Produced Silica panels in polluting processes and then shipped it all back to Australia.

I hate to say it Tombie - but you have unwittingly hit the nail on the head. If anyone comes at me banging on about my Landrover and carbon footprint and bleating about cost of living etc etc, I just ask them how many kids they have. That usually ends the debate.![]()
If we want to stop CO2, everyone should stop breathing out!
Once you go over say 50 million citizens, then those people should be calculated on the same basis as coal fired power stations.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Why are we all down on China and thier carbon pollution. I can understand thier position when they tried to have the "one child policy" because they could fore see problems associated with over population, but were condemed by the rest of the world (not withstanding thier implementation of said policy). Our standard of living is inversly proportional to population.
There are too many people just surviving today. A local soup kitchen feeds many with a home, because once they pay their rent they have very little left to live on. That extra 22 cents may send some over the wall, as they are just surviving now. We own our place so are not in the dire straits that many people are in. ["straits" as in Torres Stait, Bass Strait, Straits of Magellen, Straits of Gibraltar, etc., where many ships are shipwrecked. I have just been writing a PowerPoint about how Bible dictionaries have changed definitions, and one example I used is "strait" as in Jesus saying "Enter in the strait gate." I have a 1771AD first edition Encyclopedia Britannica which I purchased for $10 the set in a op shop, and It quotes the definition of "strait" from the first ever English dictionary by Samuel Johnston. Most people redefine this word "strait" today to mean something other than what it mreant when the king James Bible was translated].
Oh my bleeding heart! Did the world collapse when the GST was brought in? How many businesses folded when they had to start paying 9% super annuation?
IMO, I think this is yet another policy that you won't see the benefits until sometime down the road.
