In this case you can almost guarantee the dogs behaviour is as already mentioned, down to the owner more than the dog itself. The breed is largely insignificant. A dog bred in a redneck wonderland is only going to have the same attitudes.

As DiscoWeb said, I don't know what employ you're in but if anyone in a govt based position has anything like this occur then I'm sure it's in their job description as well as their common sense to report it. Both to protect themselves, their co-workers & the public from the same.

    Wink alternate to dog

I thought the approach from a publican in Normanton a few years ago was better. After someone poisoned his dog again he got two 6ft crocs.

Sometimes he let them out... when it was dark.

fixed the attempted burglary problem too.

As far as I am aware, in Qld you must have clear and free access to the front door, or a sign stating DO NOT ENTER, if the sign "Beware of the Dog" is on the fence/gate it admits liability,we used to have a sign on our front gate "Please close the gate to keep the Blue Dogs in" but we have 3 fences, Front,Middle, and dog yard/kennels,middle fence used to have the sign "Todays Intruder Tomorrows Dogs**t" and yes, I bought it at a dog show

The other sign that does not admit liability is, "I can make the gate in 4.5 seconds how fast are you" with a suitable dog pic on it it is uaually avaiable from pet shops

    Was waiting for that one.

Hoping it's all going well, haven't taken the bandaid off to have a look yet. Might sound silly, but my immune system is not up to scratch at the moment, last time I skinned a knuckle it took two months to heal.

You are lucky he didnt bite you too!

Dog bites dont contain anywhere near the nasties of human bites! (Well they do but generally dog nasties are generally only nasty to other dogs etc)

    From Medscape: Medscape Access

"The bacterial inoculum of human bite wounds is rich in oral flora, as saliva contains as many as 100,000,000 organisms per mL, representing as many as 190 different species."

personally with a beware of the dog sign and the fact you noticed a remote bell that should of been enough to ring alarm bells.....I would of stayed at the gate and called until he came or if not would of called on my mobile if you had his number to alert him.

yes the dog should have ideally been restrained perhaps he was going to do that once he know you were there who knows
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
