Fire Brigade saves our kitty kat.

    Hey All,

    A good news story .

This sounds like one of those stories.....but true. Chubbs our beloved and cool cat got stuck way, way up one of our tree's. He must have got up there last night...most likely chased by our GSD...though they are mates. We had a crack at getting him down in the freezing cold last night to no avail. So come morning......Stevo Mcgyver kicked in..........

    This is Chubbs

This is likely culprit that chased him up the tree....that's Max.

That's Chubbs way, way up in the tree.

Tried food and water at bottom of tree to no avail. So thought...hey lets ziptie some planks together and with sun burning in my eyes see if Chubbs would walk down that.....

    FAIL

After many phone calls....suggestions like ( and you know who you are ) a garden hose, Officer Tackleberry, 40gr lead injection or my favourite one....put your Tiger pants on.....we called in the experts.....

    Not 1...

    But 2...

    Getting the ladder up

Our hero on his way to rescue Chubbs...

Gotcha......and without a struggle....think Chubbs just wanted the hell outta there....

Chubbs hero...all decked out in case he went nutso...much to the **** taking of his colleagues ....I think his new nickname is now "Gimp"

Chubbs....doing what he does best....chowing down.....

Massive thanks to the local Robina Fire Brigade, group of top blokes.......the kids will be happy that Chubbs is home again,

    Regards

    Stevo

Great story and pics. You only read about this sort of thing happening, nice to see that they really do come out to perform a "Rescue Cat Out of a Tree" mission.

By the way, did you ring 000 and what did they say when you told them your problem?

Nice story, thanks to share it with us.
Just wonder if the local tree lopper can help in a situation like this. I saw them climing trees like cats
Then again for sure they will charge heaps of money for the job.

Nope...no calls to 000....was a chain of calls before ending up at the Fire Brigade....on their non emergency number. Was well impressed,

    But the cat came back

    Hi Stevo

    Is Chubbs a British Blue?

Any way it's good to see your cat is home and safe.

    Cheers Arthur

Glad to hear Chubbs was retrieved without much hassle!

As a firefighter in NSW you would be surprised how common these calls are! yet the strangest for me would still have to be a call to a BIRD stuck in a tree!

    Kind Regards!

Thanks and Chubbs is a British Short Hair......could be same thing?? We used to have a Bengal cat.....beautiful animal.....very tempermental......told the missus to do some research 2nd time round. Not much of a cat person....but Chubbs is a great all round cat. Cruisy and gets dragged around by the kids with no problems. He's still lying in one of the beds.....hasnt moved .

Funny you say that...a mate of mine is in the firies in NSW and it was his idea...as he noted same about how common it was.

Thanks everyone else for your comments........good to provide a good news story.......just picked up my 3 yr old...first thing....."Did Daddy save Chubbs?"....well sort of ,

    Regards
