May need Help in Melb Sat Morning, please???

Hi all you Melbourne based Forumites...

I am bringing a vehicle over on Friday nights crossing from Devonport, (A 4x4 Canter truck with camper on) that is on its way to FNQ via transporter. BUT, at the moment there is a problem that the transport companies aren't open on Saturday morning, I MAY be able to beg one of them to be about for the 10 minutes or so that I need to drop off the truck etc but failing all possibilities is there anyone who may be able to help by taking it to the chosen depot on Monday? The owner of the vehicle is trying to get the address etc of the yard so I can post this up as soon as I get it, but I am guessing either Laverton area OR Dandenong or similar industrial/ transport district.

I know this is a bit disorganised sounding but the weekend is the only way I can get away to get across with it.

Thanks in anticipation, PM me if it is easier.

may not be able to do it Mon AM. Is that critical? I could get it and take it sometime during the week if that helps send me a pm and we will take it from there.

    CAN HELP

    Hi justinc,

I am able to help you out SAT morning when you get here and again Monday morning to drop off (if I've read that right).

Your original note raises a few questions for me:

Does a Canter require more than a car license? (comfortable I can drive it, but I only have car license)
Both Laverton or Dandenong are around one hour from home for me... How do I get home again once drop off is completed? Do I need to arrange a second vehicle and driver too? (both possible)
Are insurance req's covered? (must have)

Help me out with a PM and some further detail on what's going on and if I can be of assistance I will... POSITIVE AULRO KARMA is a great thing to have!

    Hoo Roo,

    Dave & the "pretty pig"

Thankyou heaps to all who have replied and pM's.

I am still going to try and contact the transport yard to see if ANYONE will be in early Sat to help, but failing that I will have to avail ourselves of some AULRO help!

    Thanks again all

Yes I love that part of WA. Wychinicup Nat park is a really pretty spot, feeding Bandicoots Banana bits in the carpark was a bit bizarre!
Swimming at Greens Pool in clear hot weather was another memorable experience, as was Windsurfing at Peaceful Bay in my younger more agile days...
