    Gillard Stamp

    Defective stamps

Australia Post have created and marketed a new stamp displaying a picture of the current Prime Minister of Australia, Ms Gillard.
The prime minister had requested a recall of the stamps following concerns that they weren’t sticking.
Australia Post recently suspended a recall of the stamps after the findings of a special Senate Committee were released.

The Prime Minister was told that the stamp was not sticking to envelopes and the enraged Prime Minister demanded a full investigation.
After a month of testing and spending of $1.85 million, a special Senate Committee led by the leader of the Greens, Bob Brown, presented the following findings -

    1) The stamp is in perfect order.

    2) There is nothing wrong with the adhesive.

    3) People are spitting on the wrong side of the stamp.

I live about 5 miles away from where Ms Gillard was born (Barry, South Wales), she's not exactly popular there either

Julia Gillard left Wales when she was five. I think she has been back once for a short visit. She is hardly a major player in international affairs. Just confirms my belief that the world is full of prejudice and ignorance.

    Cheers

Or maybe it's just that there is a bit of news coverage about her in that area, given that she is a local who has come into a position of public attention, even if it is on the other side of the world (it's not unheard of you know).

And maybe people who read / see the news of her there have formed the same opinion of her as many of us here have also formed.

It seems that "prejudice and ignorance" are only displayed by people who happen to disagree with your point of view.
    Cheers .........

I am sure lots of people dont agree with many of my points of view (you included BMKal) but I don't consider them prejudiced nor ignorant. But where is the evidence that Julia Gillard is unpopular in Barry? If there is none, then I rest my case.

    Cheers

Why would she be unpopular in Wales? ...apart from the fact that its unlikely that they couldn't understand what she is saying

Actually most Australian's don't understand what she is on about either.

    cheers,
    Terry
