Battery booster pack - any good?

    Hi,
Has anyone tried to jump start a TDi 300 or TD5 with one of these?

    Are they any good?

I need to jump a 4 cylinder 45 hp mini tractors with a totally flat battery. Do you think I can get one that would do the job?

I was worried about the drain from the glow plugs and whether the pack would then have enough power to crank over the diesel engine after the glow plugs?

I have a black supercheap one - something like 1200 cranking amps and has a 24aH battery inside - the gauge only reads no load so is unreliable - the charge me light comes on every time I have had load on it but it has worked OK.

Even if there is not enough oomph in it to start your car if you leave it connected to the car battery (if not completely dead) for a while it may put in enough charge in your car battery for it to start.
