Mine's a 9 seater (2 front, 3 middle, 4 sideways facing rear) as was my fathers both only ever has required annual inspections...but like John's, the number of seats isn't stated on the rego. And the 4 rears are never bolted in when taken for inspection and have no seatbelts
bit off topic though, sorry...

"The seats should have no splits cracks or tears. You are kidding, most mine vehicles would be in trouble"
Thats why Repco sells seat covers. And jam sponge in the crack. Inspector can not remove seat covers
"No cracks or bulls-eyes in the windscreen and other glass. For real, over here its as long as they are not in the drivers direct view"
Is that just for Blue slip?
As that is not the case for a Pink slip. You can have the passenger side full of holes. Although the rules could of changed....Again!
At the end of the day the RTA have the most rediculous rules made up and leave you scratching your head over it.
"and the tester in NOT allowed to poke anything through and corrosion to try and make a hole,if he does so,that is malicious damage."
That is very true. But I was insructed by someone in the RTA technical department to poke a hole in a brake line so I could fail the vehicle. All because of their dumb nonsense rule book. I didn't, but I informed the owner.
Its all down to the inspector. But remember the one who fails you the most is probably doing his job properly (even if it is annoying). But most are pretty fair. Oil leaks are always a favorite.

I would be very cautious of that. They may cause you all sorts of greif down the road.
If he marks it down as a two seater on the paper work then you later put the other seats in and wish to comply it may then require an engineers certificate which will then have to comply to todays safety requirements. I'm not 100% on that but very weary.
I would keep the seat numbers as original sold new.

When you get over here, borrow some seats for the blue slip...

It is legal to remove the passenger seats. Perhaps they are required to be in place for a blue slip inspection as the RTA have rules for vehicle inspections that are not law or legal requirements. However, all seat belts and anchorages must be in place and in good condition even with the seats removed. Not having them is a defect, 3 points off your licence and a big fine.
