I need some for work. Any amount between 5g and 1kg would be OK. Any form (flatbar, round, etc), however it should be as pure as possible.

I tried specialty metals. They said they don't stock it but would see if they can get some in. So far, no joy...
Ok, I'll ask the dumb question, what do you do with magnesium at work? Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I have intravenous Magnesium infusions every 2nd week for pain relief. It really sets fire inside me, especially once it hits the brain, It's like a Vocano about to erupt

... Now if you'd asked me 15+ years ago, I' could have brought home loads of magnesium plates from my work... burns a real treat once you get it going, specially if you file it reeeeely fine and grind up some Condy's Crystals in equal amounts.... - as any of the above-mentioned schoolboys will attest.

What ARE you going to use it for ??????

1960's volkswagen gearboxes are a high magnesium alloy. I shaved some off once and set fire to it. What fun. No surprise lots of vee dubs go up in flames easilly with the battery under the seat and the magnesium in the gearbox.

The biggest culprit was the fuel hose to the carby. This would split, then spray petrol all over the hot engine, generator and exhaust, just waiting for ignition.

But the battery shorting on the seat springs was another doozy too, and got me a couple of times.

And they are a real ****** for the fireyes to put out too.

BCF was the best, if you had enough of it. Alas, no more.

    DCP is ok

Dry sand is the weapon of choice.

Or, for fun, a quick, short burst of really high pressure water thru a 64mm hose in a long, high arcing stream from a long long way away... You would swear that the magnesium fed on the water

Sorry to hear of your condition, hope it improves for you, but now I'm REALLY curious as to what use the magnesium is to be put to Bob

My V-bud did the old "Battery come loose" and hit the metal body, didn't know about it till I could smell something in the air from inside work smelt like it was someone cutting concrete, when I looked outside i noticed the car was full of smoke.
The bottom of the seat had been smouldering away but with lack of oxygen it didn't ignite.
Lucky for me my old man used to sell and train people with fire fighting equipment, so I knew what to do.
Sold the car after that, just could not get that smell out of it.
Still, I loved that old beast of a thing even if it did try to kill me a few times....but thats another story, for another time maybe.
