4WD Driver training - Brisbane area

Can anyone suggest a good provider of 4WD driver training in the Brisbane area?

I want to do more than I currently do with my Disco, but want to be taught the right and safe way to do things. Plus the kids have said they are buying it for me for a (late) Father's Day present (which means that I will be paying for it myself anyway).

    So suggestions please!

What about joining one of the clubs.

There are Brisbane and Gold Coast land Rover owners clubs and I believe both offer free driver training to members. The GC one definetely does for new members.

As for paying for courses I am sure there are a few but I dont have any experience of them

join the Gold Coast Land Rover Club. They run a basic training course for all new members and let you choose to drive in your own comfort zone when youre out on a trip. They will also give you heaps of free assistance and bulk friendship.
From here go back and click on Australian Land Rover Owners and scroll down to GCLRO. Membership info and contacts are available there.

P7 Offroad is at Hervey Bay, so its easy to reach them for their training.

    Pete, Dennis,

Thanks for the replies. I'm clearly doing things arse about face then, as I was thinking of getting the training before I thought about venturing out with a club.

OK, I'll take a look at the 2 clubs and see where I go from there! I'm sure the kids (me) won't mind a paying for a club membership instead.

Clubs usually require you to do their training course before you can go on any difficult trips. We did ours with the GCLROC and enjoyed it a lot. Recommend it.

    +1 for P7.

He has a great wealth of knowledge on the subject, and is very helpful. You also get an certificate if you pay a bit extra. Depending on how much off road you've done before, you may find the course practical elements a little basic. However you can go back for more advanced one if you like.

ATM the courses are held at Landcruiser Mountain.
