But you have to admit - he did a better job than Meat Loaf.

Come to think of it - I reckon I could do a better job than Meat Loaf (and that's scary).
    Cheers .........

I'm not sure what it was that he was trying to sing.

He was the "star" act at the AFL Grand Final. Sounded like he had drunk a couple of flagons of woobala before he went on stage.

And to think that I used to like his music ...........................
    Cheers .........

Leave Meatloaf alone, his performance in Brisbane Thursday night was fine be me. It was only the AFL anyway.

Being between night shifts I only saw the last ten laps and what a finish.

Gee... it's either a Ford or a Holden thats going to win.........Wow.
Go back to the mid '8o's for a bit of variety. Production class is the way to go.

Bathurst 1000, sorry but bah humbug
We were talking about it at work the other day, when I was a kid phase 3 gtho's and those holden things were DRIVEN to Bathurst to compete. They used to race real Fords and real Holdens and real small fury, sorry, other makes and models.

I remember when Moffats GT was stolen a few days before Bathurst and with no chance of getting another car ready Murray Carter said here mate use mine. That was motorSPORT. Later when Dick Johson wrote off Greenstuff (I was there and got a pic of him on Hell Corner on that lap, left front in the air, he was really pushing it) they had no hope of getting another car ready so bought a Falcon off a privateer to rebuild to race the next day and so the privateer didn't miss his big day out they bought him a Commodore race car that was there on sale and it went around all day with every FORD sticker he could find plastered all over it. That was MOTORSPORT

What we see today is a sub-branch of the multi billion dollar entertainment industry. It is rubbish and there is no soul in it any more, sadly the same goes for all big sporting events.

My Dad used to race in those days, minis, the odd LM50 Ferrari, Sterling Moss, some old Scottish lady, Mrs Stewart. Dad trailered the cars up, slept in them to stop people pinching the fuel. He tells a story of a race they won and how they were leading, came in for a pit stop, worked their butts off changing tyres and plugs and fuel and thought they had nailed the fastest pit stop of the day. 4 laps he reckons. The still won. He even got engineer of the race one year.
