I love Defenders - But this DakDak has it nailed as an all rounder...

I'd say Mr Redback and Partner will be very happy with their decision(s)...:cool:

Not personally... But there are several people I know with one...

Will get their feedback...

Redback has one arriving today... He may tow something very soon ;) and write a report....

We made a choice to go D4 as its proven towing our Cat... As opposed to the Amarok, which we couldnt get the opportunity to hook up and tow before buying...

Buy a tidy County 110 and restore it using a 4BD1T and all the good gear you always wished to have. This will be considerably cheaper than a new vehicle of any make, and more capable.

Totally agree, and for me, mine is tidy enough, but until the day when one of you blokes can say x amount and I'll do it for you, the county will still be ultilised as a farm implement. If I had the time to do a full rebuild, I'd do it yesterday.

Where's this blknight when you need him.

Anyway it's a replacement for the D2 not one of my many toys.

Its not an answerable question, without a detailed list of expected results, also if you wanted a "quote" then anyone who does this sort of work, will always add 30+% for a quoted job, its to cover your ass, make some money and if you come in way under, you can refund and make the custome feel pleased

Anyhow........you wont do it:p

It sounds like you have already made up your mind..... You buy a Defender because it is very capable off road straight out the box and has a 1,000kg payload for touring. :)

You don't buy a defender if you want it to handle like a sedan on the freeway or because of the price tag. (It is hand made in England for off road green lane'n and farm work.) :(

I've done 20,326km mainly on trips in my 110 (2010 Puma) and it has not broken down, nor is it "crap". The only issue I have had is the air conditioning which has been fixed twice under warranty.

If it does not feel right, do not buy a Defender.....:o
