Hi Rovers, I am new to the TD5 game and have not been an owner for some years, previously had old 3.5 V8 RRs over many years. I have finally purchased a 2004 TD5 Classic Discovery. I really like it, but, I am now beginning to understand the TD5 engine and could do with a bit of reassuring ha ha! I cant believe they designed an engine where you cant service the cylinder head or block, that is taking unitisation to a new extreme surely. I just changed the synthetic oil, what complete fool put the oil filter in the hidden valley right beside the hot exhaust, that is absolutely ridiculous and I am thinking of designing a remote mount for the element, surely some intelligent person has all ready done that. The rest is pretty standard, although, starter motor, alternator and water pump are hard to see!! Correct me if i am wrong, maybe I am a tad ol school and should have gone for the isuzu eh ??
