I made enquiries with Dellow adaptors a few years ago, and they had made a couple of conversion plates. But I wouldn't give the series 3 gearbox much hope for long term survival.Best buy a good used BJ40 gearbox and transfercase or a later cruiser 5 speed trans and fit that to your Rover.

what to do about the 3B

I agree with Bill about that and I have had first hand experience with those motors.

They are a very gutsy motor, but not good for a S3 gearbox.
I would replace it with a R380 Land Rover box, fitting it with the short bell housing and a matching input shaft.
Then keeping the diff ratio's the same and use the 1.22 ratio in the bullet proof LT230 transfer box.
Ashcroft's sell a modification to convert the LT230 to part time 4WD.

By the way, Welcome aboard to the forum.

I believe the 'short' bellhousings are becoming extremely scarce, even in the UK.Even so, the R380 +LT230 would probably add around 170mm to the overall transmission length, Manageable on a LWB,but would make for a very short rear propshaft if Bens vehicle is a SWB.
Also worth considering is that if the existing conversion housing is to suit a 6 cylinder LandRover Bell housing, then it will not mate up to the R380 bell housing.
Another thought that just occurred to me is that the later LandCruiser transfercases dont have a handbrake, although i did adapt an LT230 brake unit to one a while back for a 101 owner who fitted a LandCruiser engine and transmission to his vehicle. Can't remember the details of the adaption anymore but was a couple of hours work on a lathe and no spline cutting or brooching involved.
