Any particular vehicle? I do have a reason for asking.....
Hi,
Because I have the car dismantled, this is the time to add some thermal/noise insulation to the bulkhead/gearbox tunnel/underside.
Is there some stuff which can handle the heat in the engine bay, while providing some insulation ? Where can I find it ?
I have seen some photos in the web of something like a sticky neoprene with aluminium foil in one side, but no idea on where/how much.
Any advice greatly appreciated,
Carlos

Thank you, ebay seems to be a nice starting point.
Ron, I'm too old for a Series III... I sold mine 6 years ago, it had it's own mind... never again :-)
Hey FFR,
I bought some of this about 2 months ago. Fitted it to the transmission tunnel around the gear box and seat boxes on my PUMA.
It works very well and is easy to fit with the adhesive backing.
It is at a real good price compared to some others, took about 7 days to arrive.
Cheers

I bought some from Clark Rubber. There are probably cheaper places, but it was convenient. It's rated to 105 degrees, and 10mm thick. They have the self adhesive version for about $40/metre (1100mm wide I think) or the non-adhesive for about $29/metre. I chose the later and used self adhesive Velcro tape to secure it so that it can be removed for cleaning and/or corrosion inspection.
James.
I looked at the stuff on ebay and was not impressed. Bought mine from Whitworths Marine. The double layer one has a layer of vinyl in the centre, silver on the outside and sticky back, 25mm thick.
$100 for 1000 x1400 I think it was. Withstands more heat too.
See my series one JUMBUCK thread.
