I travel it every fortnight and the end is in sight

I went up last week Perry and returned a couple of days later, albeit not during roadworking hours, so I can't comment on the temporary traffic control.

I came to Brisbane via Cunningham's gap, and all lanes appear to be open normally, although the uphill left lane was closed just below the containers because a B-double had lost his second trailer.

However, today I headed south from Caboolture, and travelled via Heifer Creek - and it it does have a short section down to one lane controlled by lights due to a landslide on the downhill side.

I made it to Narrabri today, will get home tomorrow, all going well.

(Rain to the top of the range, only a few drops anywhere past that, although a lot of cloud. Some quite heavy showers near Moree, but didn't actually drive through any.)

Good luck, and safe passage, Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

John, did you catch up with Dan? He's well worth catching up with.

No, unfortunately the only AULRO person I managed to catch up with was Incisor. I was tied up while in Brisbane with a man I worked with in the Simpson nearly fifty years ago, then the conference, then with an old friend I have known from fifty years ago (and her family on Saturday), then on Sunday travelled to near Gatton to visit a man who was running the bulldozers (and an aeroplane) in the Simpson nearly fifty years ago. He has a private airstrip, and owns two aeroplanes, and has lost his pilot's licence at eighty-six.

A mate farms some 2500 acres outside Dalby. He has had almost no rain but it has been bucketing down in Toowoomba and east. He says the sorghum is almost ready to come off so they should get heaps of rain as soon as they are about to start harvesting.Murphy's Law.

    Arrived home at noon.

Total of 2250km, average of 10.4l/100km to the fill up at Narrabri.

Only problem for the trip was the alternator coming loose. Not too bad for a vehicle approaching 600,000km and 26 years old!

Probably, blue County with folding side steps - I think I remember waving back.
