    High Speed Phone

My son was a passenger in a car travelling at 100kph when he went to take a photo. His phone had a cover and when he opened the cover the wind caught it and pulled it out of his hands. Below is what was a $1,000 phone.

Poor bugger. An expensive lesson learnt. Does your/his household insurance cover this ?, worth a look.
But look on the bright side. The only good Apple product is a dead Apple product.

A grand for an Iphone? Makes mine, sans simcard, an expensive music storage device. The card is in better phone.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

My wife lost her iPhone. it turned up handed in a week later, turned out she had left it on the car while she was getting into the Defender, it fell off, was driven over a few times.
Anyway the Apple store has a exchange policy, it cost her $250 and she got a new phone. I was very relieved because it was a new phone only 2 months into the contract.
Give that a go, her phone was equally damaged.

No he is 21 and working. As for make them like they used to, Back in the mid 90's I was driving home from work and there was a phone in the middle of the road. I pulled over and as I was walking back to get it a commodore ran over it. It was a Nokia 5110 which was what I also had. The battery came off but apart from that it was undamaged.

I tracked down the owner and he was very happy as it was three days old and on a two year contract. It still worked fine and hardly had a scratch.

They are not mobile phones as you know them, those devices are miniaturised laptop computers with a telephone facility. You wouldn't expose your laptop to the environments you encounter with your telephone, do you?
The trouble is not the hardware, the problem usually is the user, not taking into account the vulnerability of rather sophisticated technologically advanced devices.

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.

So it's depreciated slightly faster than normal? Another year and it would have had a software spitty anyway...
