I have one of these on the way for my iphone...

Armored cases for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch | Griffin Technology

Dropped my 3GS a few too many times and when I upgrade to a 4S (yes, I know, but its with work) I don't want to risk a scratch.

At least it is still in one piece... A few years back a mate of mine put his Nokia on top of the radiator of a Kenworth he was working on. The engine was running, and when it warmed up, the horton fan kicked in and the vibration made the phone fall into the fan.... Those that have seen how big these are will know it didn't end well. It sprayed the phone out the side of the truck in tiny little shards... The biggest bit left was one half of the battery. We swept up what we could find and put it on the managers desk asking for it to be sent out to be repaired... he didn't see the funny side of it for some reason.

I tracked down the owner and he was very happy as it was three days old and on a two year contract. It still worked fine and hardly had a scratch.

My wife has a Nokia N8, and I would disagree. I should say she's on her third N8, just making a phone call broke the last 2

For those that have not seen a Horton fan, to give you an idea of the size, they require 50 Hp to drive them.
