hi, it's a lot more high tech than mine, mine has infa red, movement activated , time, date and sound , but not the other features as the one your looking at, but for $40.00 + sd/mmc card I'm happy with mine, a good thing about yours is it sits behind the mirror....Gary

It's very similar to the Papago 2X that my hubby bought.. I can't really see anything that it has different - except for the shape... and the price. Papago 2X is about $270

Mine sits's behind the rear vision mirror so is not in my line of sight.. I think that most of the dash cameras sit around there so it shouldn't be a problem..

As long as it's not within the arcs of the wipers you should be OK.

Thanks Sue & Gary for your replies. Will see what happens in the future as funds are a bit low at the moment

A low cost method is to use an app for a smartphone that will do the same thing. I'm currently using AutoGuard Blackbox available from the android market to work as an in car camera, although there are many others now.
I have set it up to record video in a continuous loop. The program overlays speed and location information from the gps onto the recorded video as well as recording audio from inside the vehicle as well.

All this information could prove invaluable for a routine traffic infringement as well as the more serious incidents.
