I've a 60 litre one for 10 years now. No problems and they run on an oily rag.Going across the Nullabor a few years back outside temp 46c Freezer section in Eva Cool -18c.In my opinion they are value for money and when stacked up against the Engel just as good at a much lesser price.

Just to add to your options, Waeco have a deal on the CF50 fridge freezer, + insulating cover + fridge stand+ power kit + battery pack, $1399. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

We have the 60 litre fiberglass Evakool known as the retrofit. When we first purchased it in 98 and it had a compressor made by a mob in QLD called micro compressors, unfortunately they were not good and soon went out of business, ours was back and forth for repair but they then fitted the Danfoss compressor and its been fine since. The main difference with these fibreglass Evakools is they have excellent insulation and therefore the duty cycle is less that a similar fridge with the same compressor. Ours draws about 3.5amps when running but it only runs about 15 to 20 mins per hour so use's about 1 to 1.5 Amps per hour. if you did run out of juice you can throw a bag of ice in these fridges and it will last one week. So in summary we have one of the first Evakools to have the Danfoss compressor fitted and never had a single issue since so that must say something. Buy Australian!! (with a German/Danish made compressor)
