The highway heading out of the place towards the eastern states. Perth 3hrs and 30 years behind the rest of australia
Hi!
Finally made it to Perth, am here for a couple of weeks and thought I'd ask you lot about what's good to see/ visit. I was thinking of doing a couple of days away, maybe Monkey Mia or Margaret River? Just got married so have todo something the better half will like.
First thing I noticed about the place is a lack of landies! way too many Toyotas. However I did spot a nice 4 door classic Range in Iluka. Also have a RRS tdv8 at my disposal, which is nice.
Cheers!

Check out Kings park and Rottnest island, down south you will enjoy Margeret river,Yellingup ( caves ) & Dunsborough ( wine country ).
Further south youve got Pemberton which is tall tree country with tree top walks ect.
That should get you started anyway.
Cheers Adam.
Leo, If you feel withdrawal from lack of landies to look at, just head to Claremont, or swing through Nedlands; they probably outnumber the Hyundai's.
As for sites to see, how much time have you got?
The Pilbara is great this time of the year....it's just past Monkey Mia.

Kalbarri, Shark Bay / Monkey Mia for sharks/dolphins, Coral Bay for coral better than the Great Barrier Reef.
Best of all, none of the above are outside the range of RAC flat-bed recovery...
Denmark, Walpole, Albany plus surrounds. Esperence, though again, its a Long Drive to Get There. You will appreciate the diesel !
Anywhere in WA is awesome. Some of my favourite areas in reasonable reach of perth would be the south west forests - you must climb the various fire spotting trees in ...mup towns (eg Manjimup), Pemberton is great, the Capes are great, as are the road trips around Margaret River and Albany. There's plenty of beautiful scenery and history in these parts to keep anyone occupied with delight. In Perth itself: Kings Park, anywhere along the river and of course the seafood at Fremantle. Lucky you!

I read the topic sentence way to quick,
Read it as:
'What's good in Penrith?' (I'm from Sydney).
Clicked on with great interest to find out what IS good in Penrith!
Enjoy Perth.
The city lights are worth seeing, in your rear view mirror as you get the hell out of there.
Just kidding, please don't take offence.
Dave.
SAND SAND SAND Just ask Brian Hjlem
If you want cooler climate head south.
Busselton,Dunsborough,Margeret River etc is great, especially if you like wine and fine dining.
My favorite is Albany, just spent 9 nites down there over easter.SPECTACULAR coastline, its been my favorite holiday destination for the last 20 yearsIm in Williams,160ks from Perth on the way to Albany.
There is lots nice north of Perth too.The further north you go the more you will see why Awestralia never went into recesion.WA has a HUGE mining industry and then there is all the gas from offshore.
Enjoy the holiday
