FFS I could have purchased a pair of lockers cheaper than supply/fit one locally quoted at my nearest ARB. Their reasoning was there's no fitting warrantty, at that difference who cares?
The shocks are made locally that is for sure, steering dampers different story though, they are also made in Mexico and the US.
Come on guys, ARB like it or not is one Australian business that has done alright for themselves. Trying to supply Aus made or mostly has to be a tuff gig in an asian made market. And from my experience their service is pretty good compared to the competition.
I'm certainly not pro ARB, but good on Sam to come on here and explain the original question. No matter what he say, his a bit of a sitting duck and trying to put across ARB's view without getting pulled from all angels. Not easy I'd imagine.
I had an OME locker in my last vehicle, it was good, it was expansive, and I'm told made in Australia. I assume I paid for warranty in the buy price, however the conditions perhaps rendered the warranty useless. No surprise as this is common to many warranties regardless of business, however I was disappointed.
On the other hand my tyre deflater blew out after 6 months and ARB swapped it over no questions. Probably Chinese made, but so are all the alternatives. ARB can't please everyone, and in ways its a real job to please one customer.

My question is why Sam? As you can see we are talking about your product we are wanting more from ARB. I am wanting more from ARB and like most are tired of major 4X4 suppliers not offering a decent range for our vehicles.

And variety, plus acknowledgement that those on staff may not know everything about every make. Take sahara bars and D2's. By the book they only fir 2a's but we know they will fit earlier. I'd have laid down the 2k+ the other day for one but the simple lack of acknowledgement that was offered by the staff that they could fit, even when offered a pic, which I did on my phone, There's an xrox on the way now. I know it'll fit but the sales staff were "uncomfortable" selling me one as it wasn't listed for my model. Who gives a ****, I'm trying to give you money and you say no?
how many landrovers are sold compared to nisoytas? i can imagine arb spend a lot on r&d to bring out a range of gear, they would then need to sell heaps to recover costs. keeping to the basics, bullbar, suspension and bitsnbobs, majority of what most owners find sufficient. the reason there is so much landrover stuff in the uk is because the brand is one of the biggest sellers so aftermarket can make more sales than you would ever see here.Quote:

Yes I would agree with that statement if made 5-7 years ago, but in fact is Land Rover 4x4 are the faster growing 4x4 sold now in Australia. Also Discos are everywhere now being that a great car is only costing $15-20g.
My point is also we have buckets of stuff for the new Amorok at ARB but not a Disco that is relative unchanged from 88-04.
they only do r&d on new editions, look at what you can get for the disco4/defender these days. again see how many roks have been sold, probably more than land rovers and likely to only increase.
just stick to buying the uk made stuff for your older discos, plenty out there and can be bought for a good price.
