Funny you should mention ARB's Land Rover range, considering ARB was started making bull bars for series 1 Land Rovers, their range has somewhat dropped off. I also think ARB need to do a bit more work when they have the Landy stuff, for instance the winch bullbar on our D2 sticks out much further than one made for a Land Cruiser, especially considering the winch could sit a further 200mm back between the chassis rails, the whole thing looks rather hideous sitting low and out, and destroys the approach angle, if it wasn't on there i'd have bought a TJM for that very reason , it's almost as though they get a Land Rover job and just rush it because they won't be able to sell loads of them for mega bucks to cashed up miners, still love their stuff it is solid, and the new Defender bar looks tip top, but i have thought of doing some major surgery to the D2 bar if we ever get around to colour coding it.

Most stuff made here is cheaper overseas. I was recently in Hong Kong and I went out late at night to get some snacks. I ended up buying Aussie made chocolates for like 50c AUST when adjusted. But home its $1-2 a bar. So made here and shipped overseas and sold at a profit is still cheaper then buying it at point of origin. Just a joke really.

Part of the problem may come form how complicated modern LR's are compared to other makes. A friend of mine who works for a well known bullbar manufacturer was talking to me about a D4 the other day. There fitting specilist can usually turn a vehicle around with old bar removed and new bar fitted in under four hours including all wiring. He got a D4 in and it took him all day just to remove the standard bar. When they got the new bar fitted and took it for a test drive it bunny hopped around the block like a Mexican gansta because some levelling sensor in the air suspension was upset by the change in bar weight. Took them another half a day to stop the sensor reacting to the new bar.

I understand but the point I am making is that there seams to be no interest in LR from the suppliers. And a bar and suspensions is the most they offer.

No different to any other make,it's things like that that make me buy oversea's because it wouldn't happen if they did their homework first,as I mentioned earlier ARB should use their products on Land Rovers and find out problems before they sell them but they don't,if they did they would have known about things like the TDCi needing a DC shaft when fitting a lift kit but they didn't. Pat

Also when I worked at UV4x4 they told me that ARB never really had a great deal of stock on hand. And that most products were made to order when a customer came in. And that was why there was a 2-4 week wait. So why can't ARB design products and only make them when required?

If they ever design a bar for the SVX. I'll get one.

They just need to design products to fit to a LR model and then have the unit made when its ordered. I can't see the cost in that, especially being that Discos and Defenders are relatively unchanged underneath. In sense they should be the easiest to design for as a lot of the cars run on the same platform.

Only problem is, the ARB bar is the only one I personally like.
