Is it really a crime to make a sarcastic or Tongue-in-cheek remark?
- Would'nt surpise me if the above is true, apparantly it IS a crime (of some sort) to assert the existance of a legal loophole to our Preferential Voting System... and explaining it is an even bigger Sin.
The pros get shot at with AK's RPG's & Surface-to-Air missiles...and don't complain. Nor are they paid as much as the noisy so-an-so inspecting powerlines...
My son said that they use choppers in Vic because it is very mountainous where as NSW is a much larger area. Interesting that the Chopper company above is based in Orange. My son just finished this area last Thursday.

Dave.
Dave, yeah they all mix and match - I guess it depends on who has what contract with which power company. I don't think the line inspection is a major part of what he does, I was just meaning to say that they do use choppers for that work. :)
BTW - Nice shot of the cars.
G'day Baz,
YOu need to report this in the first instance to:
https://www.airservicesaustralia.com...e-a-complaint/
Try and note the position , time, distinctive markings and colours, and see if you can get the rego (you may need the binoculars) it will be VH-???
Helicopters, with permission, can operate lower than fixed wings (e.g.: Police, Surf Rescue etc 300' AGL or other 500' AGL) on even more unusual ops they can operate much lower (power line surveys and even power line repairs.)
I have also known people to have fully grown trees helicoptered in to their new mansion in Toorak!
I know of someone recently who made "threats against aircraft" to the noise complaints hotline - he was handed to AFP. He tried to argue that it was "tounge in cheek" and "didn't even own a gun" (or potato bazooka:p). The AFP couldn't really see the funny side so charged him anyway.:nazilock:
Anyone involved in aviation will tell you that any kind of threat is taken very serious indeed.
Anyone flying any aircraft for payment is a pro, some get shot at but their machines are equipped with armour and devices for early detection, machines like Robinsons or Jet Ranger for passengers have not protection at all.
Any-how- be careful what is said about flying.
Even pilots need to have the odd leak :pQuote:

At the same time, if pilots are being wilful nuisances, then they need to be reminded that flying OVER or nearly over my residence is a privilege and not a 'Right' and brings with it certain responsibilities.... which is behind the original gripe, if I'm correctly reading the spaces between the lines.
Good Manners would dispel these problems...
My 2 cents worth,
Well there are some very interesting comments displayed here.
Thank you for those who recognized my comment as a tongue in cheek of the cuff response.
For those who made comment that it was of criminal nature. i respect your thoughts as well. However in saying that i think you need to sit down and have beer or too and relax a little.
In the past few years with a terrorism threat ever present. The terrorists do not need to do any physical act and the simple reason is they have instilled fear into your heads. Even thou terrorism is real they are preying on peoples perception and emotions.
Let me assure you i am NOT a terrorist. I am increasing my longevity thru jest and lightheartedness.
My advice is relax enjoy life don't stress over other peoples comments.
