Chilly, I had mine done almost 10 years ago, and I'm eternally grateful to God and surgeons for allowing me to chuck the glasses away.

But AFAIK you have to be myopic (short sighted).

Another tip: bugger the cost, go to the best surgeon possible. A mate had his done on a budget, and he can't drive at night any more......

Many years ago I had an accident involving a knife and my right eye, the only thing that got me some sight back was laser surgery, and have had several ops since, but the damage is to much to restore full sight.Hopefully 1 day they will get the ability to improve my right eye even more.

The Lions eye institute are fantastic and if you can see them they will tell you all you need to know, otherwise as said, if the surgeon knows his stuff have it done, as even some improvement will be far better in the long term.

Hope you get the op done and the dog wont be feasting on your glasses no more

I had mine done 15+ years ago. Prior to having them done I was -7 (very short-sighted with a limit of about 100mm (4 inches) before everything went blurry).

Now I only wear glasses when reading at night.

However, I've also had three retinal detachments. The surgeon says those who have had laser surgery are more prone to detachments.

Following one detachment, I had another and the surgeon had to remove my lens so that he could see into the eye to fix it. I had no lens in that eye for 6 months until I had an artificial lens fitted.

I've had it done to correct Short Sightedness and Astigmatism about 12 Years ago.
The only problems I have now are really bright lights at night.
Foglights on the back of Hyundai Excels tend to "Flare" and so do really bright White Fog lights, a la Subarus and Commodores that reflect of wet roads at night, HID Conversions do it as well.
I have run off the road through not being able to see when it happens that's why I am so Anti Fog Lights, too much scattered light coming from multiple sources.
My ophthalmologist says it's very common, the laser leaves little dots on the surface of the eyeball.
Before Laser-no problems.
If you drive at night you might want to think about it.

My oldest son had it done around 3 yrs ago,worked very well,no problems at all.

He is away ATM,so i can't ask,but it was 3k per eye i think?or maybe 3k for both?

Had it done on the Gold Coast somewhere.

my wife had the Lasik surgery 10 years ago, she suffered from glare at night to the point of not being able to drive at night. Even in bright sunny days she can't go out without her sunglasses.

Another problem she experienced is the loss of dark colors differentiation, she is not able to tell between dark blue, black, dark grey and dark brow.

Lately she is starting to become short sighted again.

As for me I still prefer to have my glasses in order to be able to drive at night.

What about the staffy? poor starving staffy having to eat glasses.........
