Yes, the repairer. turns out afdter looking over the quote he's overquoted for his work by about 2K. Ins contacted me today, investigating now but charging 2hours for "lifting/jacking", 6 hours for bonnet remove/replace (not damaged, necessary in scope of work) etc etc...

The other drivers car (late 80's camry), not too bad as it was a square hit in the fronr, pair of guards, bonnet, lights, grille. Maybe a rad etc but a day at the wreckers should see you come home with all the parts in the right color faded red. Fixed a mates skyline that was worse with nothing to bend back straight. Dropped in to see her and she's fine, her husband is planning on fixing it for their kid. Already bought her a new pulsar. Was going to offer her a 'k to throw to fixing it and since I was so well off but since she's gone new...

    And now....

    (drum roll)

She's claiming I hit her. Got home from holiday to mailbox full of paperwork for me to fill out and pics to draw outlining why I shouldn't be held responsible. Seems That being hit in the side with no damage to the front isn't enough.

    I could see this coming.
Reminds me of the time my mother stopped behind a stationary car which then proceeded to reverse into us, they claimed we hit them from behind and it came down to our word against theirs.
Fortunately for you they hit your side.
I have dealt with people like this before and they will lie and cheat with no conscience to save a few bucks.

I can just imagine how that would play out in court.
"So madam, you claim the driver of the LandRover hit you?"
    "Yes, that's correct"
"Madam, given that the damage indicates the opposite, could you explain how this occured?"
"Well, I was approaching a stop sign and i-"
"Did you stop at the stop sign?"
    "....yes"
"So, the driver of the LandRover managed to hit your vehicle head on with the side of his vehicle, despite you being outside his line of travel"
    ".........uhmm....yes, I guess so"
"So, madam, are you suggesting my client was performing traveling 360 degree spins, which caused him to turn into the street where you had stopped, thus hitting your vehicle?"
    "uhm.....yes"
    "No further questions your honour"

She has no chance mate. Good luck with it all!

I certainly reported it, she refused since apparently you don't need to. She's probably hoping I didn't and can use it somehow.

I had a similar thing the night before my wedding. A kid on a pushbike somehow rode across 5 lanes of traffic on a major Sydney arterial road and hit the drivers door rolling up and over the car, car stopped with the bike jammed under it. Cops etc all turned up, dragged the kid off to hospital. Months later, a guy knocks on the door delivering a letter of demand for damages and medical costs. Apparently we hit him. An investigator came around to look at the car (still wasn't fixed) and just laughed. Went back to the kid and gave him a letter of demand for the damages to the car.
