200tdi CH from Turners - Arrived

Got a remanufactured and gasflowed 200 tdi head from Turners!

Never received a delivery on a Sunday before so that was a pleasant surprise. Dispatched on Wednesday, I have to say Turners (with the help of DHL) offer really efficient service.

Delivery cost was £100 but with no tax to pay it works out about the same to have one delivered to Australia as UK.

Looking forward to fitting it over the weekend.

    Here’s some pics.

Another happy Turners customer! Now is a good time to buy a TM engine watchdog temperature gauge and fit the sensor to one of the threads on the back of the head.Even better, combine it with a low level coolant alarm.

Do Turners use a modified 300 head or is it specifically a 200 head ?

Its a 200tdi head, a 300tdi head on a 200tdi would require too many mods to be worthwile.

I took my time hunting a cheap CH on ebay uk and won a scruffy looking one for £80 inc delivery to turners. Turners tested it and confirmed it suitable for re-man. Once confirmed they sent out a head that they had ready to go.

Yeah i was just wondering if turners start with a 300 head then modify it since they would be doing it while machining so not really that much more effort. Good to know they are still available at a reasonable price if you have a 200 series that is otherwise great.

That's great news that it is still possible to get heads for the 200tdi, it makes me want to hold on to mine even longer now!

How much was it all up? and do you need to fit any new parts to it? or just put your old rockers etc back on it?

Its a bit of a hassle having to find an exchange head so it would be great if they could do that...

i think when my 200tdi wears itself out to a wheezing husk (currently at 320,000k) I will seriously consider getting another one rebuilt from turners - I cant think of a better replacement engine I could put in it that would be worth the extra work: conversion process, engineering, vicroads, insurance etc.

    Long live the 200tdi!

Turners have been great to me, their prices are just too competitive and the delivery time is phenomenal, i will definitely use them again. Good to see others have the same success and good luck with your tdi
