    Just check my keys (98 XH ute) and it has the same key. I have all the original keys and remote fobs from new, so it maybe a Ford thing.

    But I've got the same key on a HX Holden fuel cap

    I have the same on a Datsun cap & a Chrysler cap.

    Thanks everyone
    I think we have established the cap is from an XY and is most likely an after market item and not origional. At least thats what the local panel beater told us today. Will put it back in the shed and maybe find someone that has a use for it?

    yep i would go with the CPC thing also i think the hardtops had this style as well as the XY
    the word GAS is usually associated with CPC
