Made up fact, but a riddle nevertheless....Which modern day saying is a derivation of an old Eskimo saying that was an admonition against building a fire in a boat while out hunting whales, seals, etc?
An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
You'd be closer if you took that apple and made a cake.
You can’t have your cake and eat it.
Which is a saying I’ve never understood - if I buy a cake, it’s mine and I intend to eat it....
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
That's correct. I think it means you can't eat your cake and keep it. Similarly you can't be in a kayak and heat at the same time, you can only have one or the other.
