seen that before... (not on a modern vehicle tho they normally get scrapped
the old school method of repair is
internal plate with plug welds to locate everything followed by an overplate with side welds to do all the work should sort it.
normal welding layout rules for the plates, no welds at 90degrees to the chassis, run them along or at 45 degrees where possible.
