Yeah, we freighted our Countys back to Melbourne from Cairns and flew home. It's definitely a good way to do it. You might as well spend the time doing the 'good stuff' than sitting on the black top. It cost us $1575 per car. It sounds a lot at first, but if you take everything into account, it's well worth it.

Such an expert, so why would you have to drive in as straight line as possible????? To avoid transmission wind up????? Well according to him the axle is already broken so why the need to drive in a straight line lmao

well I do believe one of them was a 200grand Range Rover:eek:...

we thought the people telling us were thinking of a 200 series and were getting mixed up but apparently not croc tent advises that RACQ only a few days befor our visit had bought a rangerover back to his yard.

maybe they never got mixed up after all:D

Nothing compared to the Kimberly,there was more than 30 vehicles at the RAC yard in Broome alone,another dozen at Derby and an abandoned Jackeroo,a broken cruiser,patrol a few utes and four vans/campers on the gibb and many wounded vehicles struggling back,all overloaded as a matter of interest. Pat

Hi Pat we just got back from Kalumburu spent 3 weeks up there I tell you what the Gibb this year was like driving on bitumen the road was exellent nothing like last year. Can't say the same for The road into Mitchell falls that road was a bit how you going a poor falla damaged his oil cooler going through a creek crossing in a Nissan cost him 5 grand for a tilt tray then the tilt tray truck broke down and they had to bring out another truck.

Too true, call me boring but we drove the easy line to the top of Big Red. I was there for the view and the big sky experience. I didn't find the need to risk the truck and families holiday to just say I'd driven the hard line to the top.

Amazing how many people don't see it that way.
