    On the Cape trip we saw many vehicles towing trailers, driven by people who had obviously not given any thought to upgrading their rear springs to sufficiently cope with the load on the tow bar. Some of them were so badly sagging in the rear, I would consider them quite dangerous, mostly dual cabs from memory.
    Why would you spend $20k-$50k on a camper trailer and either skimp on a spring upgrade, or simply not give it a thought.

    Agreed Pat the only prerequisites seem to be a keyboard and an attitude of knowing it all.

    Yes your right everyone is an expert, I am not popular when I ask people to back their claims or outlandish comments. I think its because we live in such a capable world where every new car these days is basically amazing and there is not a lot of big problems that occur, we are insulated (the majority) from the harshness of gene selection. Gone are the days when you would not say unrealistic stuff because you would loose reputation. I make a personal point of being able to back what I say which is fine, but no one cares!! I suppose they all assume I am telling porkies like everyone else!

    Hmmm??? I wave to everyone in town. Er, usually. I've given up on people towing caravans as they rarely wave back. Were you towing one by any chance?

    Now the question is: what was I driving?
    At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

    Every time i go to work (firebrigade) I pull into the car park and receive the following remarks without fail;

    1. Bloody hell that thing still runs (referring to my 98 300Tdi Disco)
    2. This is a safe place to park that thing when it catches on fire (Referring to my 2003 TD6 L322)

    Firecalls to oil on the road are always due to "bloody Land Rovers"

    All the typical things... but i don't take it to heart life is serious enough.

    And i am happy to say after owning a 300Tdi for 6 years with average home servicing... it hasn't missed a beat! and leaks nothing ... and the Range Rover... well enough said!
