We need to shut down this freezer plant for a couple of weeks, just thinking it would be good to coat these suction accumulators with something, while it is off.
No matter what type of paint we use, cant see it lasting, the furtherest one is worse.
The closest one is newer, so much for Bitzers paint work[bigsad]
Was thinking maybe clean back, then Tectyl or something similar?

Are they both Copper or steel? A bit hard to tell.
Their factory paint looks like **** with no Primer or preparation at all.
If copper I would be sanding them down with some fine emery first then follow that up with some coarser paper changing direction 90* to give a key & a coat or two of good Cold Galv Brushed on so none of the El cheapo spray ****. Even if it lasts a year you could do it again in 12 months but I suggest it will last longer than that. Remember to liberally wash down with Turps or thinners before applying galv.
You can bet you nads it was cheap lightly sprayed Laquer over metal that was not even keyed so of course it will peel off like an overcoat.
If you want to colour coat them, then for me 2 x coats of Galv letting those dry as long as possible (you may want to make that an early chore) Apply your colour coat a couple of days before recommissioning.
Grey would still look nice & serviceable after all it is a Commercial Premises,
GALMET was always in my time a very good one. Galmet(R) Cold Galvanizing Protection of Steel 500ml, Zinc Rich
Tectyl sounds pretty good as well but I have not used it.
I'd do them for you given half the chance but it would cost you a Motza & a half.:Rolling:
