I reckon the only reliable ones are the old inclined manometers.
And I'm no luddite, I really like a lot of the modern tech but our vacstats give me the pips! [emoji23]

For water balancing, in the day, the electronic stuff was just starting to turn up, but I kept going with the mercury manometer, it was the best.
We had a couple of perspex ones for the lower pressure systems, and a glass ones for the higher pressure systems.
No worries at all, unless one opened the wrong valve, and the mercury disappeared[bigsad]
A lot of this modern crap gives me the pips, probably nothing wrong with it, its just me being old school.
Easy to lose stuff,from the memory, if not doing it regularly, today I had to replace one of those Tacm controllers,couldnt remember how to set it used to know that off the top of my head, even the newer model with the 24hr time clock.
Sat there today scratching my head reading the instructions like a monkey[biggrin]
I have to refer to the instructions for them, too, don't worry [emoji23]
I haven't had to set one for years.
I think maybe in Emerald two years ago?

Little bit of trivia, Dad and I setup and had the very first Phasefale VatPac certified for use in NSW in the late 80's.
I used to know the Carel stuff inide out, not anymore as we mainly use Emerson here.

There was me thinking maybe the Coolroom install gang had not completed it. A turn-up for the books eh, introducing outside air into a what appears to be an otherwise tightly sealed room? Friend Google tells me that is necessary to achieve the correct % of Ethylene to Air mix. Have never heard of that previously but Adelaide didn't have much in the way of citrus orchards green or otherwise. That is probably more akin to SA's Riverland Area & I believe a lot of those have disappeared to make way for King Grape..
Me? All I had was Apples & Pears to play with & some of those were in huge, & high spaces. I suppose I should be thankful that we weren't using stripped Stringy Bush Poles & planks like builders had to to raise brick walls. Oh yes, we did sometimes have to build a scaffolding of sorts from the Bulk Fruit Bins one above the other precariously.
Later, as the rooms were better established & operating we had the luxury of Fruit bins on Fork lift forks for servicing. Such unwobbly bliss on icy concrete floors, not.
But we always went home with a decent bag of assorted Fruit, compliments of the owners for our risky Daredevil circus aerial performances to keep the jobs moving.

With all this fruit room chatter, back in the day, stretching the memory, around Gladstone area, we used to service these huge fruit rooms.
They worked with an evaporative condenser as the evaporator, four to each room, all on R22,Copeland semi compressors.
There were six huge rooms on the site, maybe bananas from memory?
Thats about all I can remember[bigsad][biggrin].
And the only fruit room gear I have had anything to do with, apart from rooms and cabinets in fruit shops.
Seen those Milk Vat Tacm in the catalogue, but have never used one.
The Tacm is probably one of the easier controllers to programme, but the catch is set point is cut in and if the real time time clock is not set up it will never defrost.
And reliability wise, not at the top of the list.
