That region was more known for tomato and citrus, Paul. Doesn't mean there weren't bananas though.

Yes it was Paul & probably is still part of the job, which depends where one is located & what is seasonally grown in those districts. Bananas up your way & Apples & Pears down here but requiring different storage conditions.
Maintaining % RH was probably the key thing to control, to stop or retard Shrinkage.
Some of the systems used Admiralty Pattern 3 cylinder Scottish made Sterne comps (?), & must have been a bulk buy by someone. Built like tanks or battleships they squawked away all day & when I say squawked I mean squawked. Literally. Never had a problem with any of them though.
Fan deck fun day.
So we have 24 of these little guys on a job, all Muller AHU's,run 24/7,installed 1996,so not a bad innings. This one is original, just noisey bearings.
They have a centre bearing so complete rebuild to do the bearings.
We have 6 to do now, but all the others are going fine.
Interestingly, the last one we did was 2016,and was $1100 less for the job than todays price.[bighmmm]

That sounds like a quotation from a happy Sex Worker.
Re Fruit stores. I always enjoyed the "perfume" of cold, stored fruit no matter what it was. Probably not just the fruit itself but the gasses given off as well.
Always a pleasure though to walk from inside a fruit store to the outside in the middle of Summer & of course vice
versa.
Where the stores were situated in the middle of an Orchard also had a bearing on this.
Ah Happy Days.

Couldn't seem to find anything online for Muller's History when I last looked a year or so ago.
At the time they were #1 for Fan Coils & were used everywhere as you'd know.

Same for Terry's Container side, Luke. Vic. ARAHaC (?) were no help & never even acknowledged my request for any info. Some one probably opened my E-mail, scratched their head said to the young guy at the next desk
"Who the **** were this Mob. Brenton?"
B. "I think they were mates with Noah, Jamie"

"Normal" these days.
Geez Des,your mind always seems to wonder,I don’t have time for that sort of thing to even appear in my brain, anymore, although I was down the coast yesterday and there were some interesting sights, young lady’s in thongs, you know the ones that don’t go on their feet, and not much else on...[thumbsupbig]

Then the phone rings, off to Rosewood, freezer room shagged.....[bigsad][biggrin]
Boys are flat out sorting out issues at schools while the kids are not there,so I grabbed the short straw again....
