Not much happened here lately.
Just helping one of the boys, keg cold room,672 Kegs at 27 degrees.Site not happy[bigsad][biggrin]
Danfoss TX,power element no charge at all, slammed shut,we replaced it 14 months ago.
Strange,ah,found the problem, made in China written on it[bigsad][bigsad].
It’s the bigger range of their valves,so pretty easily changed, which is one good thing.
Still need to reclaim the refrigerant as the liquid line is full, can’t be pumped down.[bighmmm]
Seems for these bigger valves, might go back to the good old Sporlan.
Bloody Hell you can pickem !![bigrolf]
Sporlan, Danfoss were always my pick& you might pay more for them (??) but if you can save at least one return trip you are in front, not only in time, cost & reliability & still retain one's good name.
PROVIDED those are not made in China these days. Label-ling is really cactus these days & you really really need to look very hard at the item & packaging & be aware of black or grey backgrounds with odd miniscule coloured merging print. Especially in Ching Chong. Not just with Fridgy stuff but with all of todays trappings.
If I didn't know better one would think someone was trying to take the ****. Heaven forbid![bigrolf]
I guess the power element is faulty for some dodgy joints & coatings.
Have you some sort of Port that can easily enable the refrigerant removal?
14 months is not long Imho for that to happen & I suspect if it had been made in Denmark like wot it wos in the good olde days it wouldn't have happened.
Just a thought though a quick phone call to Princess Mary may help, she may know a man..:Thump::Rolling:
Cest la vie.[biggrin]
Love the R448,back to R22 discharge temperatures, supposedly good for low temp.[bigsad][biggrin]
Oh well, compressor changes will be the norm, again.Even on shortish pipe runs like this job.
They dont understand how good r404 is,but we have to save the world[bighmmm]
Large new low temp system,12 months old(installed by another contractor),oil change today, and replace oil sep.Discharge temps at 110 degrees.
Replace TX and oriface of correct size, head cooling fan, temp now at 78 degrees.Total system SST 15 degrees.Air on condenser 34 degrees,Head fans keeping at 260PSI.
Medium Back pressure unit so heaps of condenser.
Better, but with a bit of wear and tear, temps will be back up.
On R404a,the system would have been fine how it was,as it runs so much cooler,is more forgiving.

How is this for another waste of tax payers money.
"The federal government has published the complete results of its refrigeration and air conditioning bench-testing project. The report clearly demonstrates that preventative maintenance minimises technology failure, reduces refrigerant leaks, and increases the energy-efficiency of properly installed equipment"
Even a half interested first year apprentice would know that.FFS.
Next they will have a vehicle project, and report back that servicing your vehicle on time is a good idea.[bighmmm][biggrin]
Or maybe a shower a day would help with personel hygiene........:Rolling:
A question out of left field for those in the know, i have a domestic chest freezer that i converted to a keezer that holds 5 x 19L beer kegs with 4 taps. I need to attach a drip tray so i would like to use small rivnuts to make it neat and these would be approx. 20cm down from the top edge of the freezer.
Being that there is about 75mm insulation between the layers, how close would the cooling element be to the outer skin ?
