No pub where I grew up. We had to go to the Petrie pub. Not for long though, as a mate managed to get us both barred for life.

I then spent an enjoyable part of my life in the late, great Scarbie Hotel. An absolute crime that it was demolished.

Back on topic, I wonder what would have happened to the cold rooms?

If the rooms were old they would have been dumped, same for the refrigeration and AC equipment.Although no doubt some would have ended up at the scrap dealer.

If the gear was in good condition it may have been reused, but the costs of pulling rooms down often makes reusing and rebuilding them not viable.

Cold and Freezer room panels don't have to be very old to be waterlogged, once this happens they are not worth re using.

We change waterlogged panels regularly, paticularly partition walls between cold and freezer rooms.

Oh knowledgeable ones , is there a specific code on a wiring diagram to signify a thermostat ?
Would like to know where it is on this diagram.

I picked this up to use as a beer fermenting fridge using an STC1000 temp controller but it would be ideal to replace or kitchen fridge if i can get the thermostat to work.
Bloke i got it from said they had someone replace the fan motor and the thermostat didn't work afterwards so just replaced it.

All done through the PCB,no thermostat as such,a relay on the PCB will switch the compressor, defrost heaters, fan, etc.
Compressor maybe multi speed,I can’t see the drawing clearly enough to tell.

Yep not like the old style, must be a temp sensor somewhere. I left it on overnight with a jug of water in it, frozen solid this morning.
There is a touch panel inside for temp adjustment so maybe the sensor is behind it.

I'd say the control sensor is the one marked F/C next to the DEF (Defrost) sensor which looks like it connects into the J11 terminals/plug on the control board and should be the one with black wires next to the defrost which has red wires.

    one for the engel experts

I have just come back from a fishing trip to Stanage Bay, while there some clown decided to cook some sausages and used a fishing knife to cut a couple off the string against the internal wall of my 80l engel. The knife cut a hole in the evaporator tubing and ,of cause, the fridge stopped cooling. Has anyone repaired this type of damage successfully without replacing the whole unit. Thanks in advance.
