Nah,BP’s fridgies call them.As does the apprentice,only cos he learns from us,that is when he isn’t on the phone or dreaming about the new GF[bighmmm]

It’s funny,we use them on the wiring on the vans and our private vehicles,and the auto electricians certainly look at them strangely.

Same as uninsulated 6mm spade terminals,crimped correctly with the proper Utilux tool.
They don’t like them either,they love the insulated ones that have damaged insulation once they are sort of crimped with a cheap crappy Chinese crimp tool.

We use a slide on plastic cover that goes over the bare spade terminal.

Yer know, it is a wonder there were any Apprentices left in the country to follow on with our good work & examples. [bigrolf]

My apprentice is the same (always on the phone dreaming of his "next" GF), he was on tinder chatting to this "HOT CHICK", when he got to meet her (dont worry about the corona virus just worry about your dick) she was a he [bigrolf][bigrolf][bigrolf]
Ive nicnamed him Wombat, his mum asked why i call him Wombat. All i could say was "what do wombats do?.....eats roots shoots and leaves"
I think she got the gist 1/2 hour later[bigwhistle]

And all my apprentices have called them Meggers too, but they do occasionally get a bit uppity with other terms but it doesn't last long [emoji16][emoji23]

Be like one of my old mates who I nicknamed Wombat when we are 18. [emoji56]

The F&P real POS is plugged back into the 15 A socket on the other meter and all is working fine. Seems to be cycling a bit more often (normal) than it was when it was tripping out.

First question I asked when I was doing my apprenticeship “why are they called blueys”
I got told to “open your eyes, it’s a big world out there young fella, look out for the small stuff”
Took me till knock off time to work it out, cleaning up I looked at a bluey and it said “Blue Point” on it
Blueys, bp’s, connectors
Megger, insulation tester

The original brand seems to name
everything else that copies it

We had a New Zealand tech,working for us for many years,he always called a shifter a Cresent.

And never measured anything in mm,it was always in inches.

Sure we still use inches for pipe sizes,drill bits,etc.

But to get a bit of sheetmetal angle made up it would be something like 3 and 5/16",by 4 and 1/2",by 15" long,bloody PITA.
