Soooo many good guitarists from o/s but closer to home and deserving of more accolades:
Ian Moss - listen to a few of his solo albums and you'll be convinced
Geoff Achison - great guitarist, little known
o/s again ...................
Robben Ford
Buddy Guy
Jeff Healy
Pete Townsend
Robin Trower
Not necessarily all top 10 but certainly deserving of a mention as great guitarists.
My tuppence worth on my personal favourite rock guitarists
Gilmour (superb, ethereal!)
Gary Moore (genious both blues and rock)
EC (Cream/Bluesbreakers era)
Steve Hackett
Mark Knofler
Lindsay Buckingham
Brian May
Ian Moss
If I had to include a Yank I'd say Neal Schon
and one more Pom -Andy Latimer (Camel), a great flautist too!
I have to agree with you on this one. The only ones I have not seen play live are Hendirx, Chuck Berry, and I'm not sure about Bo Diddley. One of the benefits of growing up in Berkeley California during the 60's and 70's ;)
Al Dimeola is a fantastic technical guitarist would probably finish the list for me.
Cheers,
Ken
Pete Townshend hasn't been mentioned yet

Ian Moss ?
Without a doubt ! :). Franz is on the money re: Moss's solo albums.
Mrs F may even have been guilty of licking KB's chest at an after party after a private party gig we played on with Borich years ago ..... but THAT is another story :p
Borich & Walsh with the party boys .....
