feeding once a day or every second day should be sufficent as for quantity I'm not sure if you are unsure I would recommend you just go out and buy new food.

Can't you ask the person you got them from?

    Dullbird,

The size is 5 mm diameter - after I measured it this probably corresponds with the label "5M Fish Pellet 200g. The tank, fish and food were a gift after the kids of a co-worker of my wife, decided they were not interested in keeping fish anymore. Since my wife works at a school it will be a while before people come back from holidays.

I just might have visit a couple of the pet stores in town to see if I can find a similar product.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

Gold fish are messy fish.....they don't have a stomach...so they are always eating......
You should feed them small amounts a few times a day......

The 5mm pellets you have may be a bit too big for them.....they can easily be broken down in a pepper grinder......

About a small pinch of food is all they need.....pretty much as much as they can eat in about half a minute......

They will need regular cleaning and water changes to reduce any ammonia build up in the tank from any left over food or waste......
