Thread: Outdoor clothing online?

I've always like Macpac gear, although I don't have any ATM.
A mate has a merino jumper and it's really nice.

I was actually checking out their current specials yesterday although I don't know where they make most of their clothing anymore, I doubt it's still NZ made but I'd like to be wrong.

I've purchased Ground Effect cycle clothing that's windstopper (they call their material 'windfoil')
Made in NZ with mostly NZ made fabrics, it's good stuff and nicely priced as you are dealing directly with the manufacturer.

Not bought online, we have 'rainbird' jackets, they are hip length and are very good in driveing rain, yes we have worn them in it All good camping stores sell them, we bought ours from Kathmandu.

Mont Mont Adventure Equipment Australia : Catalog make some great jackets as do Mountain Designs Mountain Designs - Rain Jackets Both are Australian companies (gear is made OS as usual), but at least you're not exporting your dollars across the Tasman.

I usually go for short jackets, and currently have a Mountain Designs Deluge gortex jacket that has been fantastic. Prior to that I had a Mont Latitude which was pretty good until the waterproof membrane gave up on the sleeves after a couple of years hard use.

I like Macpac gear too and have a fair bit of it, not only clothing. Most is made in Vietnam these days but dont think it has affected the quality though.

Icebreaker merino stuff is good although not cheap.

I think Kathmandu have an "up to" 60% off sale in store currently.

Looks like they all have Chrissy sales on ATM, and now is definitely the time to stock up on winter gear.

Please don't buy Kathmandu. Their products are rubbish and will fail. Macpac, mont, mountain designs, are all good. Paddy pallin is good but can be more expensive.

I personally like Macpac gear. And if you are after rainwear, their e-vent range is the best.
