....and thought it was quite a nice vehicle.

She bought a Jeep? I thought there was only one Jeep????
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
One of our guys at work just bought one too. He's very pleased with it and says it gets better ecconomy than his "Brock special" that he has. Not bad for a vehicle that weighs so much. He'll do a lot of miles in it as a sales rep, and it'll be used to tow his boat up and down to lakes Entrance I suppose.
I haven't had a ride in it, but it certainly looks good.
I have been driving a new Wrangler KJ 2 door recently with the new 3.6 V6.
It got 12l/100kms in a mixture of Sydney suburban and trips on the F3 from the Central Coast.
Twitchy on the expressway, probably because of the short wheelbase and the motor has little torque down low but mated well with the 5 speed auto. Ride is pretty terrible.
But overall a good package though I haven't driven it off road yet. On the sand it seemed better than an FJ Cruiser I am also driving.
It really makes me consider a KJ 4door diesel as a touring car to replace my RRC. I don't fit in a Defender, as my shoulder is hard up against the door, and I am still wary of the electronic doodads in Disco3s and 4s , hearing tales of collapsed suspensions in Litchfield on Range Rover Club trips. Who needs that crap?
I recently went to the Stockton cleanup with the Range Rover Club , and the RRS was really struggling in the hands of a VERY experienced driver. To be fair once he learned to disable the Stability control it was better but not a patch on an RRC, even with the detested BW transfer case.

Don't we all drive "Jeeps"![]()
Wranglers drive like your on a pogo stick they wobble and learch all over the road
Yes that photo is only "file footage".
I am told the G-Cherokee has a lot of Merc influence (is that a chrysler connection thing?) and is therefore very refined in comparison to Wrangler.
It seemed on par with a Disco 4 (perhaps a bit smaller) and RRS for a helluva lot less $$$. (80 grand for one "with the lot")
I always liked the Wrangler too. Pretty good value in comp. with a Defender. Alright perhaps not as good suspension and the plastic flares are a bit
but Auto option and Rubicon diff options are nice - on paper anyway.
(And it doesn't have a Transit van engine)
there are several million of those transit van engines running very happily all over the world....it is a winner.....doesnt it work in a defender?
