How to evict a gecko from our Disco?

I think we have a gecko living in our Disco. The alarm keeps going off at random times for no obvious reason. The remote locking system is working fine. Unlocking and relocking it turns off the alarm and relocks the vehicle.
After much discussion The Navigator and I have decided the most likely cause is a gecko living in it somewhere, possibly under the dash, and coming out to wander around inside when its parked, triggering the sensors.
Now, I like geckos and have no wish to harm it, but I would like to find and evict it, but how?
Anyone got any ideas for painlessly evicting a gecko? its not going to come out while anyone is around. How would I make a non-fatal gecko trap?
I'm hoping the renowned resourcefulness of LR owners will be able to help me solve this dilemma.

To see if it's the sensor or something else try locking the door with the key in the door lock. This sets the alarm but the inside sensors are inactive. This is so you can lock your kids in the car at the casino and not have the alarm go off. This will tell you if it's the inside sensor triggering it or not.

Edit: This function works on the D2 but can't remeber if the D1 did.

un plug the sensors and enjoy sharing your car with the wildlife..... Seriously, i unplugged the sensors in my Disco as I couldn'y even leave the window down a bit when having locked the car as the breeze would set them off!! The sensors just clip off and you unplug the wires from the back (Disco 1)

Had the same thing happen with my RR

Then going out to shut off the alarm for what seemed like the hundredth time found a huge huntsman on the windshield.

    Be grateful for the gecko

Yes it works on D1 too.

A snake will get rid of a gecko. It could also be a moth (geckos will get rid of moths) or a faulty sensor.

    Thanks for the advice.
Pretty sure the wife won't come at the idea of a snake in the car.
The dogs have set off the sensors inside in the past, so we know that movement sets them off.
Fortunately, we don't actually have a horn on the alarm so there's no noise, but it sits there with the indicators blinking.
What do geckos eat? Maybe I can put something in an ice cream container made slippery with butter and lure it into it.

If it's not a native gecko I'd be disposing of it humanely after capture. A size 9 upwards or rolled up newspaper works. They're pretty fragile little foreign pests. We have the native velvet geckoes so I try & kill as many of the Asian invaders as possible & so far, so good.
