for me it's not necessarily the a place. Of course it has to be speckie, but its more a timing of state in that place. Once upon a time I was a mad bushwalker, and climbing up up some gorge, or sleeping on top of a waterfall, or standing on top of some remote peak in the Western Arthurs; there are so many places that cant be named.
Now I'm car camping, it could be being the lone fisherman on Fraser Isl as the sun comes up. The space and silence of central Aus and so on, they all have favourite appeal.

Personally having driven all around Australia I would say my faveroute area is if you draw a line from Townsville to Port Headland . I consider the area above that line to be the best parts of Australia

I consider my self lucky that with my job I have to service Cairns , Port Douglus , Atherton , Townsville , Airlie Beach and Mackay every 6 weeks . I fly in on a Monday into cairns hire a car and fly out of Mackay on a Friday afternoon . I used to do the same job in the uk in Reading , slough and Portsmouth. Anyone who knows these areas will now it's a hell of a difference.

Have to pinch myself every time I am there as to how my life has changed.
My area I cover for work is Coffs Harbour to Cairns to get to see some of Australia beauty in the course of my work.

    Favourite Spots

    My Spots are,
Pieman River and Sandy Cape West Coast of Tas, followed by Merimbula/Tarthra and Crescent Head. Byron Bay is pretty good as well (They usually involve surfing or diving).

The coolest thing i have seen/done was Paronella Park
Paronella Park - Cairns attractions and Cairns rainforest tours, Cairns Tourism at its best! North Queensland, Australia. Cairns tours daily.
Was the best place around, in the 70's.Today,only in my opinion,it is just like any other tourist spot with way to many people.....,it is nothing like it used to be.

I still think some of the spots on the Cape are not to bad.

After living most of my life in Coffs Harbour I think the NSW North Coast and New England has just about everything except the desert, which I also enjoy.

One place that never gets written about is Cathedral Rock NP on the New England between Dorrigo and Armidale, near the New England NP. No challenge for fourbying, but climbing the rock to 1600m above sea level is great fun, although a bit chilly in winter when it snows.

East coast of Fraser was one of my favourites (I managed to avoid the tourists)... The little villa we found in the middle of a vineyard in the Barossa was rather special too.

Here's a pic of my grandaughter sitting on the top of Cathedral Rock. If you look carefully the aircraft radar can be seen in the background on the next peak. The views are stupendous and its a family-friendly destination.

was Pats comment a paid one? the only things he mentions on his shows are those that give him sponsors money.

Totally agree with you, but the difference is you know that they are his sponsors, not supposedly a review of the different options available with a biased outcome.
