Dave, I trawl through a lot of the "post your....." threads looking for reference photos of various types of vehicles (usually Series)and get absolutely frustrated at the amount of irrelevant posting that goes on in between photographic posts. I usually end up going to a Pommy site for this kind of info but in a lot of cases, their situation isn't always the same as ours.
Having said that, I would like to see some of the reference pages set aside for actual information or photographs only, without all the idle chit chat, as mentioned earlier by one or two people. Don't have any idea how you could do it though.

A few of you need to have the proverbial teaspoon of cement.
This is an "open" forum and you are bound to get "off thread" posts.
Yeah they can be a little annoying but often we all bring the thread back on track//
I have a little scroll bar on the side of my browser and a wheel on my mouse to quickly skip past those posters/posts that don't interest me.
Geesh, harmless banter is what make this place a pleasant, friendly place. Sounds like you blokes would should join..... nk-lro
As for some uk lr forums.......
If I want hard and fast data I will use google or read a workshop manual.
(Surprisingly it often brings me back here!)
Inc,
I think you and the mods do (and have done) a great job. No need for wholesale changes.
The only change I would make is to remove the calendar section which hasn't had a post in 5 years!
My 2 cents.
the calendar section shouldn't even be visible to you guys so I don't know what happened there..unless it became visible after some updates or something
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
I know we have members vehicles, but what about a build thread in each respective model area.
The build thread should be locked to replies, but updatable by the OP.
Info such as specs and type of mods etc.
Other car forums have these and they can be very helpful and cost saving to people to see the results of various mods and how they look or perform.
It would be much easier to find and read without replies, any questions would go either by pm or posting in the relevant forum.
I personally get annoyed scrolling thru pages of rubbish trying to gather info on mods and found it much easier on some of my other toys respective forums.
This is not to be confused with a how to mechanical advice area, just a what I have done to my......
Just a thought
Regards and merry Xmas all

As Ron suggested, if you have any thread you reply to set as a 'subscribed' thread it will show up in the User CP, which makes it dead easy to follow your threads.
My User CP is always my first port of call, then 'New Posts'
Wait, it looks like inc has added a 'Your posts' button now !![]()
