    WABCO/Goodwin grader

A little while ago a friend purchased a WABCO/Goodwin grader that he thinks is approximately from 1967, but so far we've been unable to locate a serial number or a data plate more detailed than the maintenance instructions.....

Does anyone know where would be best to look?

Goodwin? As in AE Goodwin? Dad was an engineer with them.

    Edit: It seems so. http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/...oodwin-graders

I can't remember if Dad worked at Ipswich before he worked at Goodwins in St Marys (western Sydney). I suppose I could ask him.

AE Goodwin also were on Parramatta rd if I remember correctly, in the mid 60's. IIRC they built diesel electric Locos. I worked for a company that supplied them with pipework products

They were. Dad moved from the St Marys factory where they built the 44 Class Goodwin-Alcos to Clyde where they were building the 48 Class locos.

Actually, thinking about it, Dad worked at St Marys and Clyde before we moved to Qld in 1960 so he probably never worked at Ipswich. Stmarys would have been about '58 or so as I remember going with him to the factory for a look and I was about 10. I remember seeing, many years later, Dad's engine driver's certificate that was required for him to drive the locos around the factory yard. He wasn't a train driver on the railways, he was a mechanical engineer.
