I wouldn't worry about the lightning arrestor, they are mainly used for mains connected systems to stop the lightning going along the power wires into the house.

I also wouldn't worry to much about the tv, radio interference as yours is a solar stand alone system it is very unlikely it will transfer to the mains wires.

When moving the energiser around the farm connect the earth to a star picket on the fence and then the whole fence becomes the earth through all the star pickets.

With the fences that you don't currently have, if they are going to be wire, not post and rail and you only have large animals. You can make a simple fence of three plain wires, top and bottom ones are plain wire and are hot and the middle, again plain wire is the earth. Nice and easy to put up and very affective. The animals won't put their heads over the top wire and push the fence and they won't put their heads under and lift the pickets out and if they go through the middle they get zapped as well.

    Have fun

No I don't like wire fences hence why the post and rail is going in, I have cut far to many horses out of wire fencing and while its not as bad as the barbed stuff it still makes a hell of a mess of their legs!

Rick I totally agree with the thickness of the tape and intend to put fairly large tape on for visibility that's why I have mentioned tape from the start and not wire or the string.

I know horses can be clever with electric fence I have worked with horses for many years and have used electric fences for years I have just never put one up
