****! Not so good. Haven't heard from my mate!
Tasmania is a small place, I hope that deceased person isn't anyone I know, with 65 structures gone in Dunalley, it's going to be a sorry sight next time I visit the place.
AlexH who I work together with on the TD5 project, hasn't been able to contact his brother who is one of the local fire fighting volunteer's, to check how he is been copping, but power outages have taken out the communication in the area.
His brother lives the other side of Eaglehawk neck and Alex has a couple of his Series one Land Rovers stored there.

He's good.Lots of smoke behind him heading South. Hope all down there are OK.
Very sad what is going on in Tas. BOM website showed Dunalley hit 54.9! Probably the heat from the fires, but there are consistent mid 40's there, and strangely the barometric pressure is under 1000 hPa - a bit odd considering the temps....
My thoughts go out to all in the area, I know there is at least one dead, I hope the toll doesn't rise.![]()

The ABC 10.30 pm update does not look good at all.
The fire now goes towards Dodges Ferry and people cannot scape inland, the coast is the only option![]()
How far from the fires are you Chucaro? Hope you, your family and friends are all safe.

Now, in the other major spot, the Tasmanian Fire Service is now also warning that the bushfire at Lake Repulse is now impacting on the communities of Ellendale and Karanja.
It is likely too late to leave at this point. Residents are instructed move to a nearby safe place as the last resort and only if the path is clear.
Let hope for the best, must be terrible to not have scape options available![]()
The BOM website actually shows the peak at 59.9 at 4.22pm:
