    Shoo roo

I've hit probably twenty Roos in four years (and just missed hundreds) but they have all been in my Volvo 240 or Peugeot 405 and I've NEVER had one jump in front of my truck or the bus I drive at work....

It seems that the way the world works for some people goes something like this.

This information about fuel saving devices/ vaccination risks/ homeopathy/ UFOs/ bushfire mitigation/ perpetual motion machines/ evolution/ animal deterrent devices/ the age of the universe/ lucky charms (pick one) was published after years of work by people who know how to carry out research, so it must be wrong.

This other piece of information on one of the same subjects was published by some anonymous person with no qualifications so it must be right.

This information is based on a tiny sample of my own experience, so it must be right.

If Shu Roo works, why don't insurance companies reduce premiums for cars with them fitted? I'll answer for you; because they have looked at the statistics and shu roo fitted vehicles have no reduced incidence of animal strike over vehicles not fitted with the device (according to Dr Karl Kruszelnicki on Q & A with Dr Karl).

I put a crystal in the glovebox and have not hit a roo or any other animals since, just insects.

    Perhaps inspired by Peter Brock.

The only way to avoid hitting roos[ most of the time] is don't be on the road before 8 am, and after about 4pm. Not guaranteed, but close. Probably why there is normally a pub within a days drive, if not in the boondocks, Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Don't have ny experience with kangaroos in Ohio, but we have plenty of white tail deer (really just a different type of roo). My Dad had a pair of whistle type on his Chevy G20 custom van. He hit five deer with it. Got him some stickers of the type that has the same shape as the "Beware of Deer" signs to put under the driver's door window as "Victory Tallies". He earned his "Ace" in under 3 years! Named the van "Deer Slayer".

The New York State Police did a study of the whistles and determined no difference with or without.

The only thing they do is annoy people as you drive past...

Best thing I fitted was a 3" straight through exhaust - it made the Defender louder so roos and other animals hear me coming!
