Stockton (or is it Cessnock) protest?

The dune area is Worimi land (not public or Crown Land) and although previously fairly accessible it has been fenced since the NPWS has taken over the control and management from the Council. Access to the dune area has always had some restrictions.

The current camping and driving restrictions have been in place since the severe storms in June 2012.

The provision of camping opportunities on the park is addressed in the Draft Plan of Management for the Worimi Conservation Lands, which is scheduled for public viewing & comment in early 2013.

Seems there is some confusion amongst the protesters as to what they are actually protesting about. To start near Stockton and then drive away to Cessnock will really get the message out - doh!

Some information sourced from 4WDNSW (Association) forum (only accessible to registered club members).

I don't have an issue with people being against track closures if there's no valid reason.
What I do have an issue with is how 4WDA continue to drag the bloody corpse of the "It's against the aussie way of life, it's our bush, bloody inner city latte sipping greenies rar rar rar" argument around like it's a puppy that died some time ago and they still haven't moved on.
Stirring the bogan hordes leaning on the sides of the Toymotor utes with "Proud aussie" or "**** off we're full" stickers is hardly going to do them any good.
Present a logical argument, gain support for it within government departments or whatever, don't stand on the beach yelling and throwing empty beer cans at whatever poor soul has to face the crowds.

According to our General Roothy they are fighting for the Watagans tracks too:
STOCKTON - couple of things - we're fighting for the Wattagans tracks too, and the rest of Australia threatened by Parks - including the ocean! - you don't need anything, just show up - we will hopefully have stickers and sand flags for a small donation (gold coin maybe?) to keep the protest going and to show unity. See you there please!!!

There will be a huge convoy drive from Stockton to Cessnock showgrounds at 11am via the F3 because "there's cameras on the f3... and TV helicopters.... we're trying to show numbers here!".

Vote Liberal next time. They at least like to make money out of everything and are happy to say so. If people what to camp, let them I'd imagine. Labour/Greens party have this weird vague view often largely not revealed of trying to make money whilst locking things down. Or at the very least bugger them up.
Even bushwalkers that have proven to be virtually nil impact are now refused access to many parts of NP's. Places that have been visited for many years and by much larger volumes are now off limits. Tracks and routes have been deleted from maps, and camp sites closed. Often using a rare frog or plant as the reason. It now seems NP's prefer you use the nice grassy BBQ area next to the dunny like everyone else thank you. We have 1.5 to 3km paved or nicely graded walking track for you. Enjoy your stay, have a nice day.

Every closure is a battle that must be fought and John Rooth is our general.
    HERE HERE
And as long as I can buy an EMG media Roothy approved sticker or shirt with something like "I fronted the Stockade at Stockton". Then I'm happy.

    Well said Disco Muppet.

The "logical argument" and quiet, considereu approach directly to the decision makers as used by the 4WD NSW & ACT Association has proven itself recently with numerous tracks and camping areas being reopened. Maybe on a restricted or controlled access system but IMHO it is a positive outcome in the right direction.

On the other hand I can't recall any battle successes using the tactics employed by 'The General'
