credit card charge

I had similar dramas with a company that makes alluminiun cooling products when it leaked within two weeks of purchase, it dragged on for 3 months until i finally sent a very nasty email with photos stating that there service and product was absolute **** and that i was going to post the photos on every land rover forum i could, suddenly the ball was in my court and the seller did the right thing and more, i think i was just unlucky with a dud and the replacement and extras is perfect, i always pay with paypal[although they werent involved in this dispute.

Yep, like others have said, get onto your card company and get them to reverse the charge. Do it quick because there is a time limit for doing this (after the initial transaction).
I've found the overseas businesses are usually better to deal with than the aussie ones. When rebuilding my Defender I gave up spending money locally after a while, with one or two exceptions.
Most sellers have Paypal and if you don't receive you goods you can lodge a dispute with Paypal. I had to do that twice and both sellers who previously ignored my emails responded within the hour! So they don't want to be in the poo with Paypal it seems.
Good luck with it.![]()
Thanks for the input.
I think i am a bit late for the chargeback, ill give it a go next week anyway.
zedcars, a door bashing is tempting, but they are not UK based. much closer to you![]()
If we can't name them we can surely mention names of companies who did do the right thing. I ordered a head, gasket, bolts etc from Turners, prompt response and product to my door in 5 or so days. Most pleased!
Hi all this is my first post. have a discovery 1 300 tdi. i only yesterday decided to buy from england . it was a water pump that seemed so cheap compared to buying here so fingers crossed it will arrive. What is the normal time frame?
My car has done 400k and most things are new motor , starter ,alternator, radiator, injectors, etc . just the other day the power steering pump died and ive ordered a new one, im wondering if i should replace hoses to?

Hi Dave
Welcome aboard to the forum.
A word of caution about the cheap water pump, from experience I have found that the cheapest water pumps fail quickly with the higher ambient temperature's found here in Australia, as the plastic cage locating the rollers deforms.
Buy at least a 'QH' ( Quinton Hazell ) brand pump or genuine one.
.
thanks for the heads up on the cheap water pump, ive decided to leave the old one alone ( trying to prevent problems) and have the cheap one as back up Cheers Dave
